By downloading, installing, or using Forge ("Forge", "the app"), developed by Obelisk Agency, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using this app, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Brand Promises
Forever codes. Codes you generate are static, they do not route through any server we control and they will continue to scan years from now whether the app exists or not.
Local & private. Everything you create is stored on your device. We do not operate any backend.
No subscriptions, ever. Forge is free, with optional one-time payment to remove ads. There is no recurring billing.
3. License to Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal or business purposes. This license is subject to the following restrictions:
- You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- You may not use automated systems or software to extract data from the app
- You may not transfer, rent, lease, or sublicense the app to any third party
- You may not use the app for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose
4. App Functionality
Forge generates QR codes and barcodes for small business use. The app:
- Generates QR codes (URL, plain text, WiFi, vCard, Email, SMS, Phone, Geo, Calendar, EPC/SEPA payment, PayPal, UPI, PIX, Crypto, App / Play Store URL) and barcodes (EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, ITF, Codabar, PDF417, Data Matrix, Aztec)
- Customises the visual style with module shapes, eye shapes, gradients, logos, and frame templates
- Validates that customised codes still scan via a built-in round-trip scannability check
- Exports as PNG, SVG, PDF single label, Avery sheet, or thermal label preset
- Imports product catalogs and bulk CSVs to generate codes in batch
- Stores everything locally on your device
- Offers optional Google Drive backup with your authorization
- Hands codes off to our sibling QR scanner app for verification, when installed
5. User Responsibilities
When using the app, you agree to:
- Use the app only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Verify that generated codes scan correctly before printing or distributing them: we recommend using the in-app scannability validator and the "Test in Scanner" deep link
- Take responsibility for the accuracy of any payment information (IBAN, PayPal handle, UPI VPA, PIX key, crypto address) you encode into a payment QR
- Take responsibility for the security of your device and any data stored within the app
- Comply with the licensing terms of any logo, photo, or copyrighted artwork you overlay onto a code
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. While we strive for accuracy in code generation and rendering, we do not guarantee that:
- The app will be error-free or uninterrupted
- Every generated code will scan reliably on every scanner, printer, or label stock
- Payment QRs (EPC/SEPA, PayPal, UPI, PIX, crypto) will be processed correctly by every recipient bank, wallet, or payment platform
- Avery sheet PDFs will print at exact registration on every printer
- Thermal label presets will fit every printer model out of the box
You use the app at your own risk and are responsible for verifying generated output before relying on it commercially.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Obelisk Agency shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the app, including but not limited to:
- Codes that fail to scan or carry incorrect content after generation
- Misencoded payment information leading to failed or misdirected transactions
- Print misalignment, label sheet wastage, or thermal printer compatibility issues
- Data loss or corruption
- Actions taken by you or third parties based on the contents of generated codes
- Inaccuracies in product data you imported via CSV
8. In-App Purchases
The app offers a single optional one-time purchase, "Remove Ads", processed by Google Play. There are no subscriptions and no recurring billing of any kind. All purchases are subject to Google Play's terms of service. Refund requests should be directed to Google Play support.
9. Advertisements
The free version of the app displays banner advertisements on the My Codes, Settings, and Catalog screens, plus occasional interstitials after you export. Ads never appear in the create or edit flow. In the European Economic Area, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain GDPR-compliant consent for personalized vs non-personalized advertising; you can re-open the consent form at any time from Settings → Privacy → Manage consent. Ads are subject to Google's advertising policies. You may remove all advertisements by purchasing "Remove Ads".
10. Cross-App Integration
Forge can hand codes off to our sibling app, QR Code: Scanner & Validator, for testing. The handoff occurs through a local Android intent on your device. The two apps share a backup file format so a Google Drive backup created by one can be restored by the other. Use of the sibling app is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.
11. Intellectual Property
The app, including its design, code, generated visual styles, and bundled templates, is the intellectual property of Obelisk Agency. You retain full ownership of any content you encode into a code, any logo or photo you import, and any product data you enter or import.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the app at any time, without prior notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms and Conditions.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
