Gradina: Bio Gardening Companion

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 July 2026

Obelisk Agency ("we", "us", "our") builds Gradina ("the App"). This policy explains what the App does with your information. The short version: your garden data never leaves your phone unless you choose to back it up, and we have no servers that hold it.

1. What the App stores

Everything you enter stays on your device. That includes:

We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and there is no account to create. We cannot see any of the above.

2. Where it is stored

Garden data is written to app-private storage on your device (Android's AsyncStorage, with your language choice in MMKV). Uninstalling the App removes all of it. We operate no servers that store your data.

3. Photos

Journal photos stay on your device. They are included when you export a backup, and only then. We have no access to your camera roll and the App never uploads a photo on its own.

4. Location

Location is optional and you can skip it. The App asks for approximate location only (city level), never precise GPS, and uses it for two things: working out your climate zone and fetching the local forecast.

When you use the weather features, your approximate coordinates are sent to the services that answer the request:

They receive a location and return weather. We do not send them anything else, and we keep no copy on our side. You can clear the stored location at any time in Settings.

5. Google Drive backup

Backup to Google Drive is off by default. If you switch it on, the App signs you in to your own Google account and writes to the hidden application-data folder, which only this App can read. We cannot see your Drive or your backups. Turning it off stops any further upload.

6. Advertising

The free version of the App shows advertisements supplied by Google AdMob: a banner above the tab bar and an occasional full-screen ad between sections. AdMob may collect an advertising identifier, device model and operating system version, IP address and interaction data, and it does so under Google's privacy policy.

Your consent comes first

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another region where consent is required, the App shows Google's consent form before the advertising SDK starts. Nothing is requested and no ad is loaded until you have answered it. Decline, and the App simply runs without advertising for that session.

You can change your answer at any time: Settings, then "Ad privacy options".

Buying "Remove ads" turns advertising off completely. It is not hidden after loading: once you own it, the App stops requesting ads at all.

7. Purchases

"Remove ads" is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play Billing. Google is the seller and processes the payment. We never see or store your card details. The App only records a yes or no flag on your device saying that the purchase is yours.

8. What we do not do

The "My statistics" screen inside the App is computed on your device from your own records and is never transmitted.

9. Permissions

The App does not request contacts, microphone, precise GPS, or access to your files.

10. Children

Gradina is a gardening and smallholding tool written for adults. It is not directed at children, collects no personal information from anyone, and advertising is limited to Google's G rating.

11. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights over personal data held about you. In practice we hold none: there is no account, no server-side record, and no way for us to identify you. Everything the App knows is on your phone and under your control.

Export: Settings, "Export data", writes a backup file you keep.

Erase: Settings, "Delete all data", or uninstall the App. See how to delete your data.

Advertising: Settings, "Ad privacy options", or reset your advertising ID in Android settings.

For data that Google processes as advertising or payment provider, contact Google using the links above. If you believe your data protection rights have been infringed you may complain to your national supervisory authority, which in Romania is the ANSPDCP.

13. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the App's release notes.
