Gradina: Bio Gardening Companion

Terms of Use

Last updated: 27 July 2026

These terms cover your use of Gradina ("the App"), published by Obelisk Agency. Installing or using the App means you accept them. Please read section 4 in particular: it explains the limits of the advice the App gives.

1. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own gardening and smallholding. You may not resell it, redistribute it, reverse engineer it, or extract its content catalogues for use in another product.

2. What the App is

Gradina is a planning and record-keeping companion for home food gardening and small household livestock. It bundles reference material: crop and indoor plant catalogues, sowing and harvest calendars by climate zone, pest and disease descriptions with organic treatments, soil and manure calculators, guides, recipes, and animal husbandry and health notes.

3. Your records are yours

You keep ownership of everything you enter. It lives on your device. Because we hold no copy, you are responsible for backing it up. Export a backup regularly, especially before changing phones or uninstalling. We cannot recover data that is lost from your device.

4. The advice in the App, and its limits

The reference content is general information compiled from horticultural and agricultural sources. It is written for typical conditions in Romania and neighbouring regions. Your soil, microclimate, cultivar, season and local regulations will differ. Treat every figure as a starting point, not an instruction.

Animal health is not veterinary advice. The animal disease and treatment content is background reading only. It cannot diagnose an animal and it is no substitute for examination by a qualified veterinarian. If an animal is unwell, call a vet. Delaying treatment because of something you read here can cost the animal its life, and in the case of notifiable disease you may also be under a legal duty to report it.

Food preservation carries real risk. The preserving and recipe content describes traditional methods. Home canning and fermentation done wrong can cause serious illness, including botulism, which is not detectable by taste or smell. Follow current official food safety guidance for your country, use tested processing times and acidity levels, and when in doubt throw it out.

Never eat a plant on the strength of this App. Plant entries, including any note about edibility or toxicity, are for identification support only. Misidentification can be fatal. Confirm with an expert before eating, and keep plants known to be toxic away from children and animals.

Treatments described as organic or bio are still substances that can harm people, pets, pollinators and waterways if misused. Follow the product label, observe pre-harvest intervals, and comply with the rules in force where you live.

5. Organic certification records

The App's certification section is a private record-keeping aid. Entering a scheme code or the name of a control body does not certify anything and creates no relationship with a certification body. Only an accredited body can certify a holding, and only that body's own records count in an inspection.

6. Weather

Forecasts and warnings come from third-party services and are shown as supplied. Forecasts are wrong sometimes. Do not rely on the App alone for decisions where weather could cause harm or loss, and follow official warnings from your national meteorological service.

7. Advertising and purchases

The App is free and supported by advertising. "Remove ads" is a one-time purchase that disables advertising on that Google account. Google Play is the seller: payment, receipts and refunds are handled by Google under Google Play's terms. If you want a refund, ask Google. Purchases are restored through Play, so reinstalling or changing device keeps the entitlement as long as you use the same account.

We may change the price, or the features included, in future versions. That never revokes something you have already bought.

8. Availability

The App works offline for its catalogues and calculators. Weather, advertising and Drive backup need a connection and depend on services we do not control. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we may change or discontinue features in future versions.

9. Third-party content

Some plant imagery and reference material is used under open licences, including Creative Commons terms and the Unsplash licence. Those works remain the property of their authors and are used subject to their licences. If you believe something in the App infringes your rights, write to hello@obelisk.agency and we will look into it and remove the material if the claim is well founded.

10. Liability

The App is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To that same extent, Obelisk Agency is not liable for lost crops, lost livestock, illness, spoiled produce, wasted materials, lost data, lost profit, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the App or reliance on its content. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

11. Acceptable use

Do not use the App for anything unlawful, do not try to break, probe or overload the services it talks to, and do not use it to grow anything the law where you live prohibits.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Romanian law. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country they live in, and may bring proceedings there.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The current version always lives on this page, with its date. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the new version.
